I am looking for information on a Severiano Reyna that was born in Mexico and came to the United States sometime after 1931. He had a son out of wedlock in Irapuato, Mexico with a woman by the name of Francisca Witrago. The child’s name was Odilon Reyna. Odilon is my husbands dad. He died in 1960 in Plainview, Texas. If anyone has any information, I would appreciate hearing from you.
I gave her the following tip, it is along shot but you never know.
His death certificate indicates that he was born in Texas on 3-15-1933. If this information is wrong and he was born in Irapuato the Civil Registry for Guanajuato would be the place to look but unfortunately it only goes up to 1930 online. Irapuato baptisms for this year is online here https://familysearch.org/search/image/index#uri=https%3A%2F%2Ffamilysearch.org%2Frecords%2Fwaypoint%2F13962197%3Fcc%3D1860831 you might be able to find him there. Good luck. Let me know if I can post your comment on my blog since there might be a greater chance of someone finding it.
If anyone has any other suggestions please let us know.

Lets re-hire or fire our elected officials.
Ok, lets be clear, I will not tell you whom to vote for! As an American only you can decide that, and have aright to keep it between you and God, but please go out and vote. It is very important that we do so. Remember it is not just a presidential election but there are candidates competing at all government levels from Senators, Congressmen, to School board elections.
You don’t like the presidential candidates or your state always votes Democrat or Republican, guess what don’t vote for them it is also your choice as an American. Just don’t forget about all the other candidates that are running and one vote sure makes a huge difference in those races.
The people whom get elected end up making laws and decisions that affect all of us. For example, as a genealogy hobbyist I sure will not vote for someone that will take or has taken funding away from our State Archives, or someone that will extend Privacy lengths.
Another thing, don’t believe the media. Do your own independent research, we are already great at it. I just hope that our Genealogy community makes their voices heard not only on this election but on all elections.
See you at the polls,
Moises Garza

Land Grant of Francisco Angel de la Garza:
Transcription of above image:
Translation:
14. – On the same line they threw thirty five strings which make one thousand seven hundred and fifty Mexican varas, with the same on opposite side, and seventeen thousand long, completes porcion, marked in the Pass of the Alaja, asked by Francisco Garza also neighbor of Camargo for having his property there, and is left as those above.
This few lines in this document granted to my 6th great grandfather Francisco Angel de la Garza a piece of land .91 miles by 8.85 miles long, along the San Juan River in present day Arcabuz, Tamaulipas, Mexico. This document also states that he was from Camargo and that he had property on the land he petitioned for. So it can safely be assumed that he was already living at this location before 1767.
Francisco got married in Camargo, Tamaulipas, Mexico back in December 16, 1757 to Maria Cayetana Pena.
