1716 Baptism of Juana Maria Antonia Ramirez
Last Names of Nuevo Leon

This is September 16, 1716 baptism of my 8th great-grandmother Juana Maria Antonia Ramirez who was baptized in Saltillo, Coahuila, Mexico.

The record unfortunately does not mention how old she was when she was baptized. It does mention that she is the daughter of Antonio Ramirez and Juana Sanchez.

Her godparents are listed as Joseph de Guerta and Juana Flores. Also, the record states that she was a Spaniard.

  1. Moises, Primo.

Regarding Juana Maria Antonia Ramirez, I have her as the daughter of Antonio Ramirez Marquina and Juana Teresa Gertrudis Sanchez Navarro. I have that she married Simon Flores Sanchez Navarro on 27 Nov. !733 in Saltillo, Coahuila.

Antonio Ramirez Marquina's father was Miguel Ramirez Hinojosa and Bernardina Marquina.

Bernardina Marquina's parents were Francisco Marquina and Maria Andrea Marquina.

Miguel Ramirez mother was Catarina Ysadra Hinojosa. Unconfirmed father ?? Francisco Ramirez Pecina?? Still looking??

Juana Teresa Gertrudis Sanchez Navarro was the daughter of Juan Diego Farias Navarro and Bernarda de las Casas. Bernarda was the daughter of Bernabe de las Casas and Maria Beatriz Navarro.

Juan Diego Farias Navarro Sanchez' parents were Martin Farias Sanchez Quintanilla and Melchora Navarro Rodriguez.

Martin Farias Parents were Juan Diego Sanchez de Farias and Maria de Trevino de Quintanilla.

I hope I got the transcription correct.

By the way something I did not hear regarding the Juan Bautista del Rio Grande was that there was a mission there "San Francisco de Solano". Soon after the mission was transferred to San Antonio and is better known as "the Alamo".
