1799 Marriage of Jose Lorenzo Lopez and Maria Barbara Rios
Last Names of Nuevo Leon

This is the April 9, 1799 Marriage of Jose Lorenzo Lopez and Maria Barbara Rios who got married in what is now Cerralvo, Nuevo Leon, Mexico. They are my 4th great grandparents.

As you can see this record is very faded and very difficult to read. I did my best to try and transcribe it.

The record is very important since it mentions that the parents of Maria Barbara Rios are Manuel Angel Rios and Maria Manuela Rodriguez.

It also mentions that the adopted parents of Jose Lorenzo Lopez are Jose Casildo Viera and Ysabel Maria Garcia de Sepulveda. It says "hijo de criansa".

It is also mentioned that both of them were form el Rancho Los Hoyos wich is now days Los Aldamas, Nuevo Leon, Mexico.

I am a descendant of theirs through their sons Jose Gil, Jose Angel, Jose Gabriel and Jose Manuel.

  1. Hi I am at a dead end with an ancestor named Jose Gil who was married to a Calletana Garcia, with two daughters that I have found named Guadalupe Gil and Ma Ildefonsia Megia…could Jose Gil be the same ancestor in common? He must have been born from the late 1700s to early 1800s as I only have his wifes date of birth as 1807. Thanks for your help, I enjoy being in the Facebook group as well! 🙂

    1. This particular Jose Gil was born 8-30-1821 in Los Aldamas (Los Hoyos), Nuevo Leon, Mexico and was married to Maria Anastacia Hinojosa nad Maria del Rosario de la Garza.

  2. Hi, thanks for this find! Lorenzo Lopez and Barbara Rios are my 5th great grandparents. I am descendent through Maria Ygnacia Lopez born in 1809.
