Last Names of Nuevo Leon

The following is the 1635 marriage of my 10th great grandparents Alonzo de Leon and Josefa Gonzalez. They were married in Huichapan, Hidalgo, Mexico. Alonzo was the son of Lorenzo Perez and Adriana de Leon. Josefa’s parents were Antonio Leal and Maria Gonzalez. I am a descendant of two of their children Alonso de Leon who married Agustina Cantu and Antonio Leal de Leon who married Juana Josefa Gonzalez Hidalgo. Towards the bottom of the post, you will also find a listing of Alonso and Josefa’s children. Also if you are one of their descendants and would like for me to add you to my family tree just send me your family tree linking to them.

      1. From their son and his wife

Mateo de León Gonzalez m. 1695 Monterrey, NL, Mex to Lucia Garcia Quintanilla Saldivar.

This line is from my mom’s paternal side. I think Alonso and Josefa are my 10th great grandparents.

  1. I’m finding trees that link some ancestry to Alonso DE Leon Gonzalez. Trees every where have him also married to Isabel DE Matos which fathered Beatriz DE Leon Matos(My 9th great grandmother). In Puerto Rico. Does anyone have information on whether This occcured. I have read he traveled to spain as well as he used to travel to other settlements out of Mexico. Thank you in advanced

    1. There’s no such a link , I checked that record for Alonso De Leon in Puerto Rico and ALonso De Leon born in Mexico and Alonso from Puerto Rico is older by 8 Yrs .

    1. Moises: Me too on Alonso de Leon thru two of his daughters, Maria Teresa and his son Gen.Alonso Perez deLeon. Hello primos. Margaret

I have a direct dna match to his2nd. great grand daughter ana Jos
pha Garcia Guajardo de Castro** DNAmatch

  2. i am from Antonio leal’s family tree. been looking as to where he got the last name from. i know his wife had her father’s last name and her fathers name was also antonio leal… but it stops there.

  3. Hi Moises,
My mother’s mother follows this line down from Lorenzo and Adriana to Antonio Sepulveda. I don’t know if your research goes that far down that line. So Lorenzo would be my 10th great grandfather.
My question is I have seen others research which is similar, but some dates and places are different. I help my daughter research but she won’t add anything to our tree unless she has documentation as in birth record, marriage record, death record, etc. I know alot of people who just copy others family trees without researching. I find your research interesting…. were you able to get verifiable resources on your information. I’m particularly interested in Lorenzo and Adriana…if I can trace them back to Spain, they will be my first documented relatives from Spain though I know I have many more.
    Thank you for your consideration.
    jill

    1. I only get records for my direct lines leading me to them. The extended family information comes from Garmendia Leal, Crispin, and the marriage dispensations of Guadalajara. The only reason that I post it is to help others out. It is everyone’s duty to verify their own information and that is what I do every time I post an image here.

  4. DO YOU RECORD SHOWS ANY OTHER MARRIAGES BY THE GENERAL AND OTHER KIDS? A DAUGHTER BY THE NAME OF ISABEL DE LEON Y DE MARTO MALDONADO 1661

  5. TO NATANIEL TORRES. MY NAME IS ADRIAN FIGUEROA I AM ALSO PUERTO RICAN. GENERAL ALONZO dE LEON MARRIED YSABEL DE MARTO SHE WAS 20 AND HE WAS 22, THEY HAD FOUR KID INCLUDING YOU GREAT GRANDMOTHER BEATRIZ AND MY GREAT GRANDOTHER ISABEL THE OTHER KIDS WAS ALONZO AND FRANCISCA. THERE ARE RECORD SHOWING THE BAPTISM OF OF ISABEL IN 1661 NAMING THE GENERAL HER LEGITIMATE FATHER. THIS BAPTISM TOOK PLACE IN SAN JUAN PUERTO RICO. NEXT EPISODE MEXICO THE GENERAL HAD A SECOND MARRIAGE TO AGUSTINA CANTU. HE HAD ANOTHER 6 KIDS 3 SON AND 3 DAUGTERS. ALL THIS INFORMATION IS VERIFIABLE. SO WE NOT O NLY PURTO RICAN WE ALSO HAVE A MEXICAN HERITAGE. TROUGHT THE GENRAL LINE WE COULD TRACE OUR ANCESTRY TO THE MOTHER LAND SPAIN. MY EMAIL IS ADRIAN [email protected] IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTION

  6. Does Wikipedia have Capt. Lorenzo Perez de Leon and General Alonzo "El Mozo" de Leon mixed up, or am I getting confused? It says that El Mozo was born in 1638 at Huichapan & that he married Maria Cantu del Rio y de la Cerda Trevino. You say it was Lorenzo who was born in 1638 and married Maria.

I am a descendent of Angela de Leon and Andres Cota and I am trying to get this family tree right, but it
    seems to be pretty complicated.

  7. We belive to be descendant of our 8th Great-Grandfatherundefinedgrandmother….Don Alonso Pérez de León and would like to learn more about our history. Will you send me the dates for the next conference,as well as prices. Thank you in advance.
