Explore the 1930 Mexico National Census
Last Names of Nuevo Leon

In this post you will find more information about the 1930 Mexico National Census and find the link to search for your ancestors in it.

Whats great about this census is that it provides us with a snap shot in time of entire communities.

It is perfect to find ancestors that lived in Coahuila, Nuevo Leon, and Tamaulipas in the 1930s or any other part of Mexico.

I already found family in the area around Los Ramones, Nuevo Leon and Los Aldamas. I even obtained some images.

Below is the link to FamilySearch where you can do free searches and even browse the images of the census.

This census has been labeled as the most important census of the 20th century with over 90% of the population participating.

It includes over 12.8 Million names and all of them have been indexed at by FamilySearch and Ancestry.com and are available for search.

Something to keep in mind is that it is only 90% complete and some municipalities are missing. An example is that, I could not locate any family in the Miguel Aleman, Tamaulipas area, since the whole Municipio of Mier, at the time, appears to be missing. It is very likely that either they were not counted or the pages were somehow missing or where damaged.

  1. Dear Mr Garza

I’m in desperate need. I’m looking for my grandfather’s info but I don’t know where to start.
My mother doesn’t know any information. I can’t get ahold of her birth certificate and he mother never gave up any information. I’m thinking she maybe a product of a rape. Maybe?
