Luis Garcia de Pruneda Death Record
Last Names of Nuevo Leon

This is the September 16, 1739, death record of my 9th great grandfather Luis Garcia de Pruneda who died in San Juan del Rio, Queretaro, Mexico.

To be correct he did not die on September 16, 1739 and he did not die in San Juan del Rio. He was buried on that date and in that town.

His death record states that he arrived at the town the day prior and that he was already dead when he arrived. We can safely assume that he died on September 15, 1739 or the day prior. From other sources we know that he was on his way to Mexico city and died on his way there.

Luis Garcia de Pruneda was born in Santibanez, Buegos, Spain to Juan Garcia Pruneda Arce and Leonor Hernandez. He came to El Nuevo Reino de Leon when his uncle was appointed as governor. He married Juana de Leon the daughter of Alonso de Leon and Agustina Cantu.

The record also indicates that he was a General. Here is the transcription to the above image.
