This is the May 27, 1790 death record of Jose Nicolas Gonzalez, my 6th great-grandfather, who died in Mier, Tamaulipas, Mexico. 

His death record is full of great genealogical information, it mentions the name of his wife, parents, a son, and even a son in law.

Jose Nicolas was married to Maria Ana Josefa Garcia who was the daughter of Joaquin Garcia and Maria Isabel Juana Guajardo.

Enesta Villa de la Purissima Concepcion de Mier en veinte, y siete dias del mes de Mayo de
este Presente año de Mil, setecientos Noventa. Yo Fr. Pedro Maldo. y Zapata como Ministro de
esta Villa en esta Santa Ygelcia PArrochial de mi Cargo. Di Ecleciastica Sepultura Entierro
Mayor rotura de tierra de dies pesos sontodas Ynsinias, y Missa de Cuerpo presente al
Cuerpo de Dn. Nicolas Gonsales Español Adulto Originario del Valle de Salinas, y Vecino
de esta de Mier desde infantancias. Hijo lexitimo de Dn. Diego Gonsales, y Da. Anna Maria
de Treviño (ya difuntos) Cassado que fue con Da. Anna Josepha Garcia. Recivio todos los Sa-
ntos Sacramentos como son Penitencia, Eucharistia, y extrema Uncion. Murio de Fiebre a
los Ochenta años de su edad, y vaxo de Dispocicion testamentaria hecha a los dies y siete
dias del presente mes de Mayoe del presenate año. Ante Dn. Joseph Ygancio de Treviño The=
niente Justicia Mayor de esta Villa, y su Jurisdiccion, e en la Clausula tercera de su Test=
mento dexo pa. las mandas forsosas a dos reales cada una, y en la quarenta y qua=
tro manda tener mandado a Maria Santisima de Gualeguas cien Borregas, y ma

He was the son of Anastacio Gonzalez, who was the son of Remigio Gonzalez, who was the son of Juan Gonzalez Vela, who was the son of Rafael Gonzalez, who was the son of Alvino Gonzalez, who was the son of Jose Nicolas Gonzalez.

  2. I descend from Nicolás Antonio González and his daughter Ma. Margarita, wife of José Gregorio Sáenz, who with his son, José Vicente are both listed as Original Grantees of “La Sal Colorada” grant in present day Texas.

  3. Nicolas Gonsales is my 6th gr grandfather. His daughter, Ma Manuela Gonsales, is my 5th gr grandmother.
    Ma Manuela Gonsales married Jose Joaquin Bazan on 18 May 1739.

  4. Do you have the baptism record for Maria Ana Josefa Garcia? I can’t find it.

    Maria Ana Josefa Garcia who was the daughter of Joaquin Garcia and Maria Isabel Juana Guajardo.
