Last Names of Nuevo Leon

Last Saturday I wrote about Camargo Baptismal Records Index 1764 – 1882 and today I will let you know about another great genealogical book about Camargo, Tamaulipas, Mexico. It  is a book by the Spanish American Genealogical Association (SAGA). It is titled Camargo Baptismal Records Index 1764 – 1882.

Book Cover:

This covers the Camargo, Nuevo Santander Records 1764 – 1821 and the Camargo, Tamaulipas, Mexico Records 1821 – 1864. The book was extracted and compiled from the Nuestra Senora de Santa Anna Catholic Church Book XT in Camargo, Tamaulipas, Mexico.

I have personally found this book to be very valuable and has become indispensable in researching my wife’s family since these records have not been indexed by FamilySearch.

If you are researching this area and are interested in obtaining a copy of this book you can buy it from SAGA off their website: www.sagacorpuschristi.com. You can also borrow a copy from the University of Texas Pan American or find a local library that has a copy using WorldCat.
