1811 Death of Jose Francisco Angel de la Garza
Last Names of Nuevo Leon

This is the February 7, 1811, Death of Jose Francisco Angel de la Garza who died in Mier, Tamaulipas, Mexico. He is my 5th great-grandfather.

The date in the record is not very clear but I think that it may be the 17th instead of the 7th. The words to your left are missing and the day starts with a "di" like the subsequent record dated the 18th.

Anyways, this record is a burial record but as I do with any burial records prior to 1860's I use the date a as a death date also. I do this since on some church burial records, especially the older ones, they state that on that day so and so died and was buried. I am probably wrong in how I use it btu it helps me in my research.

So, this record states that he was married to Cayetana Peña and also states that he was from El Arabuz. el Arcabuz is a small town about 20 miles south of Mier.
