1791 Death Record of Jose Joaquin Salinas
Last Names of Nuevo Leon

This is the February 12, 1792 death record of Jose Joaquin Salinas, my 7th great grand-father, who died in Mier, Tamaulipas, Mexico.

His death record indicates that he was married to Maria de los Santos Garcia. I am a descendant of his from his first marriage to Maria Rita Garcia. I have yet to find who the parents of Maria Rita are.

The parents of Joaquin are Jose Salinas and Maria Bartola Pena.

On the death record it is indicated that he did make a will.

Below is the transcription of the above death record.

  1. I am a descendant of Jose Joaquin Salinas (Maria de los Santos Garcia) through his daughter Maria Gertrudis Salinas Garcia 1772, and her son Jose Antonio Mateo Canales Salinas 1786-1860

  2. Hello I am Oscar Garcia, I am also related to this Joaquin Salinas of Mier and also to the Joaquin Salinas of Revilla (they are close in proximity and time). I would like to know if they could be the same person marrying Rita de la Garza first in Mier then later Magdalena de la Pena in Revilla. I think they are likely different men, but trying to assure this. Also, how do you know that Maria de los Santos Garcia is the same women as Rita Garcia, they could be sisters. Also, I assume the Joaquin Salinas of Mier is the Mier Land Grant porcion 70 grantee – can you confirm? It looks like the Saenz family somehow acquired this porcion later. Thanks in advance for any clarifications.

  3. Hay muchos ancestros en Mier, que no se sabe quienes fueron sus padres, no veo por donde se pueda saber, tienes planeado algo??
