The following was my email response to Michael who submitted an inquiry on this blogs contact form. I am posting it here in case anyone else is looking for the same record that Michael was looking for. If anyone wants to contact Michael let me know and I’ll let him know.
Hi Michael,
Thank you for your comment I really appreciate it.
“Thank you for producing such a helpful site. Through the families of General Teran, I was able to find records for my great-great-grandparents. I was wondering if there is further information existing after 1871. I have records for the births of Hermengildo Garcia Salinas and Maria Gaudelupe Davila Villarreal, but I cannot find record of their marriage. My great grandmother’s name was Amparo Garcia and she was either born in 1912 or 1914. A”

Acta numero 138, ciento treinta ocho. = En la ciudad de Mier, Tamaulipas, a las ocho de la manana del dia diez de Diciembre de mil ochocientos noventa y seis, ante mi, Candelario Garcia Garcia, Juez del Registro Civil de esta localidad, me fue presentada una acta del tema siguiente: = Un sello que dice: = En cong, a tme del Arcabuz: = Jurisdiccion, de C. Mier. = Tamaulipas. = En lo que es a mi cargo, a las cinco de la tarde del dia siete de Diciembre, de mil ochocientos noventa y seis, ante mi; Cosme Ramirez, Encargado suplente de esta, conprension, compaecio el Senor Pablo Marroquin de veintiseis anos de edad, y vecino de esta manifestando: ,que a las seis de la manana de hoy, fallecio en su propia casa de “Fiebre” su padre el Senor Jose Angel Marroquin; de cincuenta anos de edad, casado, labrador, dejando viuda a la Senora Francisca Perez: que fue hijo, de Manuel Marroquin y Guadalupe Rodriguez, finados. Take Your Time Don’t Rush Your Research

As the title states it, slow down. Many, many years ago something sparked and I have been doing genealogy research since then. I must have been blinded since I was just eager to find the next name and trying to go back as far back as possible. Well as previously mentioned I have decided to start my family tree from scratch using what I have available. With the primary goal being that every name or fact has to have a citation.

I am slowly evaluating the data and transcribing documents, I just cant believe how much information I was leaving out. I have slowed down by entering and focusing on one ancestor at a time.

Guess what I was even astonished to find out that on two of my ancestors I had the wrong parents for them and thus leading me to research many individuals that are not even my ancestors, major rookie mistake, but it is now fixed due to the reevaluation of my original documents. Oh Well, Live and Learn!

Map of Municipalities of Tamaulipas, Mexico

When in doubt as to what town belongs in what municipality in Tamaulipas, I like this resource to help me make that determination. I’ll be posting the Nuevo Leon map very soon. You can also make an image by doing a print screen to do an overlay in Google earth if you really need to pinpoint a certain locality. Also it is always good to find the history of the municipality since the lines do tend to move. My major interest is on the municipalities of Guerrero, Mier, Camargo, Gustavo Diaz Ordaz, and Reynosa.
