I recently came across a book about the descendants of my 14th great grandparents Juan Perez de Onate and Osana Martinez. It is a 189 page book that was compiled by John D. Inclan. This book contains a wealth of information and I highly recommend that you try and get a hold of it since this book has greatly helped in my Genealogy research. Its a must get book specially if Juan and Osana are also your ancestors. The title of this book is “Descendants of Don Juan Perez de Onate and Dona Osana Martinez de Gonzalez - Nueva Galicia- Nuevo Leon- New Mexico- Tamaulipas- Texas- Zacatecas 1460- 2000″.
As you can see just by the title this book contain information on families that lived in Nueva Galicia, Nuevo Leon, New Mexico, Tamaulipas, Texas, and Zacatecas covering the time periods of 1460 to the 2000′s. Make sure and check out the links of where you can obtain this book since there is a link for it online.

Even though the online family tree is by the same author I am not one hundred percent sure that it contains the same information as the book. I just hope that this book and online resource is of help to you.
In case that you do not know I just want to make you aware that the Spanish American Genealogical Association (SAGA) out of Corpus Cristy, Texas back in 1989 indexed the Cerralvo Church Marriage Records covering the time period of 1761 to 1880. This particular book “Cerralvo Church Marriage Records 1761 – 1880 Book II” lists all the brides by alphabetical order by maiden name.
This book is invaluable to our research since as you may or may not be aware of the Cerralvo Marriage Church Records have not been indexed by familysear.org. They are only available at ancestry.com but that is more than $30.00 to get access per month. instead just look for this book or buy it off the SAGA website.

Where your ancestors from Cerralvo, Nuevo Leon, Mexico? If they were the “Cerralvo Church Baptism Records 1761 – 1859 Book I” is an excellent genealogical resource. This book is a 200 page book that was compiled and crated by the Spanish American Genealogical Association out of Corpus Christi back in 1989. Are you Garza or Trevino? Do you have ancestors with this last name? If you do you are in luck. Tomas Madirichaga Cueva has written an excellent book “Origen de los Apellidos Garza y Trevino en Nuevo Leon” (Origin of the last names Garza and Trevino form Nuevo Leon). This book starts with Marcos Alonso de la Garza (my 10th great grandfather) and documents about four generations of his descendants. The author tells that many of his sons took the last name of Garza and also many took the last name of Trevino from his wife Juana de Trevino de Quintanilla.
As you may be aware these two last names are very predominant in South Texas and Northeastern Mexico. What is so great about this book is that the author only cites first hand sources and is very well documented. So far I have yet to find an error. In my opinion this is an excellent book for your genealogical research. Continue reading
