1. Jose Domingo Lopez (my great-great-great-great-grandfather) was born on Jan. 10, 1790 in Cerralvo, Nuevo Leon, Mexico and died on May 2, 1860 in Ciudad Mier, Tamaulipas, Mexico. He was the son of Pedro Jose Lopez and Maria Margarita Martinez. He married Maria Bernarda Vela (my great-great-great-great-grandmother) on Aug. 29, 1812 in Cerralvo, Nuevo Leon, Mexico. Maria Bernarda, daughter of Jose Vital Vela and Maria Encarnacion Vela, was born on Sep. 1, 1796 in Cerralvo, Nuevo Leon, Mexico and died on an unknown date.

Jose Juan Nepomuceno Lopez (my great-great-great-grandfather) was born on Feb. 4, 1817 in Cerralvo, Nuevo Leon, Mexico and died on May 18, 1867 in Ciudad Mier, Tamaulipas, Mexico.  He married Maria Facunda Portales (my great-great-great-great-grandmother), daughter of Matias Portales and Maria Gertrudis Caballero, on Jan. 13, 1840 in Inmaculada Concepción, Mier, Tamaulipas, Mexico.  
3. Margarita Lopez was born on Jul. 15, 1829 in Cerralvo, Nuevo Leon, Mexico and died on an unknown date.  She married Jose Rafael Tapia, son of Pedro Tapia and Maria Blasa Lopez, on Mar. 1, 1848 in Ciudad Mier, Tamaulipas, Mexico.  
4. Tiburcia Lopez was born on Aug. 18, 1835 and died on an unknown date.  She married Victor Saenz, son of Andres Saenz and Lugarda Ramirez, on Aug. 25, 1852 in Ciudad Mier, Tamaulipas, Mexico.  
5. Maria De Los Santos Lopez was born on Oct. 11, 1835 in Ciudad Mier, Tamaulipas, Mexico and died in 1912 in Yorktown, DeWitt, Texas, USA.  She married Jose Ramon Vela on Jan. 12, 1860 in Inmaculada Concepción, Mier, Tamaulipas, Mexico. Jose Ramon, son of Jose Jesus Vela and Josefa Gongora, was born About 1837 in Cerralvo, Nuevo Leon, Mexico and died on Mar. 16, 1915 in Yorktown, DeWitt, Texas, USA. 
6. Dorotea Lopez was born on Jun. 11, 1837 and died on an unknown date.  She married Rafael Villanueva on Jan. 31, 1853 in Ciudad Mier, Tamaulipas, Mexico. Rafael, son of Juan Villanueva and Juliana Lopez, was born About 1834 and died on an unknown date. 
7. Maria Antonia Lopez died on an unknown date.  She married Jose Maria Resendez, son of Jose Rafael Resendez and Gregoria Barrera, on Jun. 9, 1832 in Ciudad Mier, Tamaulipas, Mexico.

1st Generation

1. Eusebio Garza Lopez (my great-grandfather) was born on Aug. 14, 1883 and died on Jun. 4, 1947.  He was the son of Jose Martin Garza and Maria Ruperta Lopez. He married Paula Lopez de La Garza on Mar. 20, 1907 in Los Aldamas, Nuevo Leon, Mexico. Paula, daughter of Jose Jorge Lopez Gonzalez and Maria De La Luz Garza, was born on Jun. 4, 1891 in Congregación El Arcabuz, Tamaulipas, Mexico and died on Dec. 8, 1975.

i. 2. Apolonio Garza was born on Feb. 9, 1912 and died on Jan. 28, 1980.
ii. 3. Luciano Garza was born on Dec. 13, 1915 in Congregación El Arcabuz,
        Tamaulipas, Mexico and died on Nov. 25, 1985.
iii. 4. Eulalio Garza was born on Dec. 8, 1919 in Congregación El Arcabuz, Tamaulipas,
         Mexico and died on Feb. 18, 1993 in Reynosa Tamaulipas Mexico.
iv. 5. Ofelia Garza died on Sep. 15, 1944.
v. 6. Guadalupe (Lupita) Garza died on an unknown date.

2nd Generation (Children)

2. Apolonio Garza was born on Feb. 9, 1912 and died on Jan. 28, 1980.  He married Flora Garza. Flora was born on Sep. 23, 1911 and died on Jan. 21, 1997. 
3. Luciano Garza was born on Dec. 13, 1915 in Congregación El Arcabuz, Tamaulipas, Mexico and died on Nov. 25, 1985.  He married Ercilia Gonzalez. Ercilia was born on Apr. 3, 1917 and died on Nov. 21, 1996. 
4. Eulalio Garza Lopez (my grandfather) was born on Dec. 8, 1919 in Congregación El Arcabuz, Tamaulipas, Mexico and died on Feb. 18, 1993 in Reynosa Tamaulipas Mexico.  He married Dominga Marroquin Gonzalez (my grandmother). Dominga, daughter of Pedro Marroquin and Maria Amalia Gonzalez, was born on Sep. 19, 1915 in Congregación El Arcabuz, Tamaulipas, Mexico and died on Sep. 26, 1997 in Congregación El Arcabuz, Tamaulipas, Mexico. 
5. Ofelia Garza died on Sep. 15, 1944.  She married Odolio Garza.  
6. Guadalupe (Lupita) Garza died on an unknown date.  She married Alfonso (Lolo) Garza. Alfonso (Lolo) died on Aug. 15, 2007 in Rio Grande City, Starr, Texas, USA.

Juan Lopez Vela and Maria Facunda Portales Caballero, 1840 Church Marriage in Mier, Tamaulipas, Mexico

The following is the image and transcription of the marriage that took place in Inmaculada Concepcion Church in Mier, Tamaulipas, Mexico back in January 13, 1840 between Juan Lopez Vela and Maria Facunda Portales Caballero. The image does not indicate who their parents are. The image does indicate that the witnesses to the marriage were Marcos Flores and Jose Angel Yanez. Juan Lopez Vela and Maria Facunda Portales Caballero are my great-great-great-grandparents through my father’s paternal maternal side of the family.

En esta Parroquia de la Villa de Mier a los trece dias del mes de Enero de mil ochocientos quarenta. Yo el Presvo. (Presvitero) Jo. (Jose) Rafael de linra. Cura into. (interino) de la Villa de Camargo. Y como encargado ausiliar este curato. haviendo presedido todas las diligencias que previerie el derecho amonestador en tres dias festivos inter misarum solemnia segun dispocicion del Santo Concilio tridentino que lo fueron los dias, veinte dos, veinte y sinco, y veinte y seisde Dbre (Diciembre) del ano de treinta y nueve. Y no haviendo Resultado impedimiento alguno pasadas mas de las veinte y cuatro horas despues de la ultima amonestacion Case y Vele infacie Ecclesiae a Juan Lopes Soltero con Ma. (Maria) Facunda Portales, fueron padrinos Marcos Flores y testigos al verlos casar y velar Jose Ango. (Angel) Yanez. Y para qe. (que) conste lo firme.

Matias Portales (my great-great-great-great-grandfather) died on an unknown date, parents are also unknown.  He married 1st Luisa Gertrudis De Guadalupe Ruiz, her parents are unknown also. He married 2nd Maria Gertrudis Caballero (my great-great-great-great-grandmother) on Sep. 20, 1818 in Nuestra Senora Del Refugio, Ciudad Victoria, Tamaulipas, Mexico. Maria Gertrudis, daughter of Jose Anselmo Caballero and Maria Josefa De La Garza, was born About 1802 in SANTANDER JIMENEZ, TAMAULIPAS, MEXICO and died on an unknown date.

She married 2nd Hemenegildo Vela, son of Desiderio Vela and Juliana Lopez, on Sep. 7, 1868 in Mier, Tamaulipas, Mexico.
