This is the February 2, 1672 death record of my 10th great grandfather Bartolome Gonzalez in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico. I have yet to find out whom his parents were. If anyone has a document indicating whom his parents where please let me know. The following document is very interesting. It mentions that he was married to Ana de Quintanilla whom was the last of three wives that he had during his life. I am a descendant of his through his son Diego Gonzalez de Esquivel whom he had with Isabel Gomez de Esquivel. The document also indicates that he was buried “de limosna” using the church funds. The following is the 1728 Death record of my 9th great grandfather Diego Gonzalez. This document indicates that his wife is Ana Caballero. I am a descendant of Diego and his first wife Maria Anastacia de Trevino whom died 18 Mar 1707. From other sources Diego’s parents are Diego Gonzalez de Esquivel and Maria Petra Ochoa de Ruelas. The following is the image and transcription of the 1672 death record of my 11th great grandfather Bartholome Gonzalez. The following document indicates that he did not make will and that he was buried “de limosna” charity. I am guessing he was poor. Bartholome had three wives and I am a descendant from him and Isabel Gomez de Esquivel. If anyone knows whom their parents are please let me know. The following is the 1694 death record of my 11th great grandfather Joseph de Ayala. He was buried in El Convento de San Francisco. This document indicates that his son Nicolas de Ayala was his executor. Through other sources we have found out that his wife was Ana de Benavides and that he was the son of Joseph de Tremino and Leonor de Ayala. He obviously got his last name from his mother. The following document indicates that he died from fever at age 46 and was buried in the local cemetery in Mier. The document also indicates that he was married to Manuela Guerra my 5th great grandmother. This document also indicates that he did not make will due to him not having anything. She was the wife of Diego Gonzalez and her parents were Melchor de Trevino Diaz and Antonia de la Garza de Renteria. She died just three years after she had married Diego Gonzalez. Unfortunately this document does not indicate what she died from.

The following is the death record of my 7th great grandmother Maria Nicolasa Baes de Trevino. She was the wife of Cristobal Guerra Canamar. Unfortunately this document does not indicate whom her parents were but luckily to other documents we know that her parents were Francisco Baes de Trevino and Catalina de Amaya. I have yet to find whom her grandparents were. This document does indicate that she gave power to her son Ygnacio Guerra to make a will on her behalf, I have yet to find that will. The following is the transcript for the 1695 Death Record for my 9th great grandfather Juan Bautista Chapa. He was buried in the Cathedral of Monterrey. He was also the husband of Beatrice Trevino de Olivares. If you would like to read a short Biography about him please check the following article by Dr. Lino Garcia, Jr. Juan Bautista Chapa, A Notable Explorer published in the Rio Grande Guardian on January 27, 2013.
