The following is a list of all the mayors that present day Laredo Texas has had since it’s birth in the 1750’s to present day. I hope this helps in your genealogical research, that is if your ancestors were form Laredo. Most of the following list was extracted form the book by Rodolfo Gonzalez de la Garza, Apellidos de Tamamaulipas, Nuevo Leon, Coahuila, y Texas. I only copied the names and years, I left the other additional information out since if the reader is interesting in knowing more they should obtain a copy of the book.

My grand mother was Sulema Sailina (sometimes written with a Z} and her father was Isidro Salinas. I need to trace Isidro Salinas back to Agustin Salinas mayor of Laredo Texas. According to folk tales, The origin of this name was an Irish man that came to South Texas and Mexico and Married a woman named Salinas and they had a son that got into legal trouble in Mexico and escaped to Texas and left his Irish surname and assumed his mother’s name of Salinas and became mayor of Laredo. I am looking for information on William Francis Alexander who served a mayor of Laredo, Tx. He was from North Carolina. Trying to find family history and also as to why he left NC and moved to TX.
